Prisons Do Owe Us Comments After Credible Evidence of Inmate Sexual Abuse Claims Against Corrections Officers

We demand comments from CoreCivic after being made aware of these serious allegations against their female inmates. There needs to be checks and balances to protect prisoners from sexual abuse by correction officers and officials. We do not accept the following comment they released: "CoreCivic does not comment on pending litigation, according to Brian Todd, public affairs manager for the company. “The safety and dignity of every person in our care is a top priority for our leadership and the staff at all our facilities, including the Nevada Southern Detention Center,” Todd wrote in a Wednesday email." Please know we stand with the victims and call on you to make this write and to implement outside suggestions by advocates for victims of sex abuse and outside legal counsel to audit your processes to see how to prevent this from ever happening again. Cameras ar enot everywhere in these facilities and there should always be a female corrections officer or nurse with a male corrections officer to keep everyone safe.
